Meet SOE Director Karen Randazzo...
A University of Bridgeport graduate, Karen is a writer, director, and acting teacher. She was the artistic director for the American Theater Banquet Company for 10 years where she wrote, produced and directed five original shows each year. Karen was selected to produce and direct “Side by Side” for the Sondheim Composer’s Festival. The following year she was invited back for Leonard Bernstein’s visit, where she wrote and directed an original revue of his work entitled, “Bernstein On Broadway.”
In 1996, Karen was responsible for producing Hasbro’s “Mr. Potato Head Live,” a multimedia Playskool CD Rom Press Kick-off in Manhattan. She wrote and staged HBO’s “SureThing” National Campaign, featuring Paul Rodriguez and Kevin Meany, the “VOICE OF NINEX” International Award’s Show, and Reebok’s live UBU tour.
Karen has enjoyed directing at Western Connecticut State University, Curtain Call, and Danny’s Skylight Room in Manhattan. Her musical, “Another Day in Paradise,” was presented at the Triad, Zipper Theater, and Laurie Beecham in Manhattan as well as at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre.
Each summer Karen writes and directs a musical revue for her theater camp for kids in Trumbull, Ct., where she lives with her 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 children, and one husband.
Meet Peter Randazzo...
Peter has a degree in music theory from the Univ. of Bridgeport. He is a versatile performer who has worked in many areas of the business. As an actor he appeared with Geraldine Fitzgerald in the Off Broadway production of “Street Songs”. Other credits include Tony in “West Side Story” at WestStage, Lt.Cable in “South Pacific” at the Host Theater in Lancaster Pa., Oedipus in “The Greeks” for the Humanities Touring Co. and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Westchester's Broadway Theater.
As a composer and arranger, Peter has written music for Jr. Achievement, NYNEX, Westbury Music Fair’s Children’s Theater, and eight original musicals for The American Theater Banquet Co.. His original musical, “PECOS BILL” was presented at the 1996 Edinburgh Festival.
On Camera, He has appeared in many commercials,and played Squint the lumberjack in the film “Trees the Movie”. He recreated his character for the sequel “The Root Of All Evil” starring Ron Palillo (of “Welcome Back Cotter” fame) He recently had a scene in the movie "Harvest" with academy award nominee Robert Logia. He also can be seen in an upcoming PBS movie "Young American Hero's".
He has been musical director for several shows at Western Connecticut State College including, "Fiddler" and "Funny Girl" and was the musical director for the Shelton High School Drama Club, for 6 years.
